Bournemouth fans, always ready to acknowledge their status as "the paupers of League One", already fear an exodus of their best players to Doncaster Rovers. It is rumoured that the deal to bring management duo, O'Driscoll and O'Kelly included an agreement to bring prolific striker, James Hayter to Belle Vue.
Cherries' fans, on their web forums, have shown their intention to monitor O'Driscoll's progress at "AFC Doncaster", in order to measure just what they might have achieved if O'Driscoll had been given sufficient funding.
Little did Rovers' fans suspect what was going through the mind of chairman John Ryan during Bournemouth's 5-0 thrashing of Dave Penney's team last autumn. The gulf in tactical sophistication between O'Driscoll and Penney was never so apparent as during that 19 minute spell while Penney dithered over substituting the crippled Priet.
Defender Warren Cummings is widely expected to follow Hayter to Rovers in January, and with former O'Driscoll charges, O'Connor and Stock already installed at Belle Vue, the Cherries have good reason to conclude, "It's grim down south".
